Why apply a coating?

What do you need for coating?

• Protective equipment: Respirator (A2/P3), safety glasses, gloves, protective coverall
• Cleaning: Plastic & universal cleaner, silicone remover, solvent-resistant cloths
• Sanding: Sandpaper (grit 180) or Cub Brush with air sander
• Priming: The right primer for the substrate
• Mixing: Mixing cups, stir sticks, Jiffy mixer if required, liquid pigments
• Application: Brush, roller, spray/protective gun (hopper or underbody)
• Cleaning: Spray gun cleaner, thinner

Important: Always wear protective equipment while working.

Coating – step by step

1. Cleaning & preparation: Surface must be clean, dry, grease- and silicone-free. Mask off adjacent areas.
2. Sanding: Sand surface evenly with 180 grit paper or Cub Brush with air sander. Aim for a matte, non-glossy finish.
3. Priming: Apply the correct primer for the material and follow drying times.
4. Mixing: Mix component A, liquid color pigment and component B exactly as specified. Only prepare as much as you can use within the pot life.
5. Application: Use brush/roller for small surfaces or spray/protective gun for larger ones. Apply in 2–3 cross passes, ensuring edges are coated.
6. Texture/finish: Texture can be varied with rollers (fine to coarse) or by spray distance/mist application.
7. Drying & curing: Follow drying times. Initial load after recommended time, full curing for maximum durability.
