We show you how to fully coat your pickup bed in a practical video tutorial. Step-by-step and easy to follow.
This guide explains all steps to coat your pickup bed: from prep, sanding and priming to spraying the coating. Helpful tips & tricks support you at every step. Long-lasting protection for your bed.
Remove add-on parts and the tailgate (if possible).

Protect areas of the vehicle with masking paper and film.
Floor, sides and tailgate are roughly cleaned, rust removed if necessary, and scuff sanded.

We recommend an air sander or an angle grinder with cup brush for
quick and effective scuff sanding.
Important: scuff sand only, do not sand to bare metal.
Use WDC universal cleaner to remove grease, wax and residues.

All bare sanded surfaces are first primed with EP100 etch primer.
After it dries, prime all surfaces to be coated with AP101 universal primer using a spray gun or brush.
Here, a few drops of liquid pigment were added to slightly tint the primer red for better visibility.

Let AP101 universal primer dry at least 20 minutes, max 12 hours. After 12 hours, reapply primer.
An average pickup bed needs 16 liters of coating for maximum protection.

Kevlar® fibers can be added to increase protection.
The material amount per square meter and spray sequence are defined precisely to ensure maximum protection.

The bed and tailgate need the most protection: recommended 2.5–3 mm thickness. Side walls: 1.5 mm.
Thicker layers are optional at any time. All thickness is applied in a single pass.

After spraying, allow a short drying phase, then apply the desired texture.
The texture affects slip resistance and surface feel.

Spray the coating from a greater distance to create the texture.

After another short wait, carefully remove the master masking tape.

Done. Let the bedliner coating dry at least 12 hours and protect it from water and moisture. Protection increases as it cures and bonds permanently to the vehicle.
Remove masking film/paper and tape.

Reinstall the tailgate and add-on parts.
Finished!

The vehicle looks great with its new bedliner protection.
