AP101 - Universal Primer

Description

SPEEDLINER™ AP101 - Universal Primer is a transparent 1K bonding agent used for SPEEDLINER™ and SPEEDLINER™ PRO coatings on the following substrates:

• painted metal
• wood
• fiberglass (GRP)
• polyester
• and more

Important: Only SPEEDLINER™ primers guarantee the best adhesion for SPEEDLINER™ and SPEEDLINER™ PRO coatings.

Application

AP101 can be applied by rolling, brushing, or using the SPEEDLINER™ Primer spray gun. Before application, the surface must be cleaned and lightly sanded. Remove dust and rust, and wipe down with SPEEDLINER™ WDC - Special Degreaser to ensure optimal adhesion.

• Processing time: approx. 10–15 minutes at 20°C
• Apply with a spray gun or use a roller/brush
• Optional: tint primer with pigment for better contrast
• Drying time: approx. 20 minutes
• Apply SPEEDLINER™ coating within 4 hours

Use the primer in a uniform, thin coat. Calculate the required amount based on the surface area to avoid over or under application.

Note

For bare metal or special surfaces such as galvanized metal or aluminum, the SPEEDLINER™ EP100 - Etch Primer should be used first. AP101 is not UV-resistant and may yellow if exposed to direct sunlight. Always apply SPEEDLINER™ or SPEEDLINER™ PRO coatings on top.

Coverage

1 liter of AP101 covers approximately 6–8 m², depending on the application method.

Calculation of the required amount:

1. Calculate the surface area (m²) of the area to be primed.
2. 1 liter of AP101 covers approximately 6–8 m².
3. Round the required amount up to ensure enough primer is available.
